Step back in time at the Blue Wing Restaurant & Saloon.

First opened in the 1880s when Upper Lake, California, was a stagecoach stop, our restaurant in Upper Lake was a popular spot for weary travelers to get a hearty and comforting meal, enjoy a cold beverage, and make new friends. It was unfortunately torn down in the 1920s due to Prohibition, but the owners never forgot the legacy and deep history of the saloon. Rebuilt to match an 1870s-era back bar recycled from a pub in Pennsylvania, the expansive black-walnut bar and dining tables were built on site from a 100-plus-year-old tree harvested from the property. Old-growth redwood wainscoting discovered during the hotel’s renovation was rescued and reused in the saloon.
